Virgin London Marathon 2012
A big thank you to our fabulous London Marathon team who raised over £65,000!
We would love you to join our team for the Virgin London Marathon 2012. To apply for a Golden Bond place please complete the Childhood First application form and return by email or post. We ask you to pledge to raise a minimum of £1500 and pay a registration fee of £50 within 14 days of being offered a place. Brighton Marathon 2012
This will be just the third Brigthon Marathon but such is the populartiy of the event there will be 18,000 entries this time. Individual entries closed very quickly and the only chance to gain a place now is through a charity and we would love you to join our team.

Gold Challenge
Gold Challenge is a new, exciting and unique event that offers you the chance to be part of the mass participation legacy of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012 and beyond.
Join us and help raise over £20 million for charity, alongside over 100,000 other participants of all ages and abilities learning or going further in 5, 10, 20 or 30 Olympic and Paralympic sports.
It is easy to register and find all the information you need to get involved, and with special offers for sessions in a number of sports, there is no better time or opportunity to get fit, have fun and give yourself a sporting challenge as the excitement builds to the world's biggest sporting event.

Skydive
Imagine standing at the edge of an open doorway in an aircraft flying at 10,000 feet - the noise of the engines and the wind ringing in your ears with only the outline of distant fields below. Now imagine leaning forward out of that doorway and letting go - falling forward into the clouds, diving down through the air as you start freefalling at over 120mph!
Then imagine the peace and quiet as the canopy opens, the steering toggles come down either side of you and you begin a tranquil parachute descent from a mile up in the air, steering yourself back down to the centre of the drop zone below.
Well, imagine no longer as you can join us to do just that.
Our recent skydivers had a great time and would highly recommend it to others: "The jump was amazing, I'm so glad I did it"; "It was awesome and great to do it for a good cause"; "It was brilliant!".

Overseas Challenge
If you'd like to get fit, experience a new culture, meet like-minded people and raise really valuable funds for Childhood First there may be no better way to do it than to challenge yourself to an overseas trek or bike ride.
Childhood First supporters conquered Kilimanjaro and raised £10,000!
Richard and Freddie Scarratt, supporters of our Greenfields community in Kent, recently conquered Kilimanjaro and raised over £10,000 for essential improvements to that facility in the process.
Richard says about the challenge: "it was an incredible experience climbing through tropical rain forest, moorland, arid desert and finally ice fields. The glaciers at the summit are magnificent".

A massive thank you and congratulations to Richard Greensted who cycled coast to coast and back again across northern England - a total of around 400 miles - and raised almost £7,000 for Childhood First in the process.
About his achievement Richard says "In the grand scheme of things, a few pains in the sit muscles and a couple of swallowed bugs are a price well worth paying to raise such a fantastic sum of money."
