After only a few days at home following the Community Holiday in Derbyshire, the Earthsea group were soon off on our next adventure – this time, a day trip to Butlins in Skegness. Despite some grumbles at the early start with holiday tiredness still lingering, once the children saw everything the park had to offer, there was only big smiles and excitement about what lay ahead for the day. We started off with visiting the amazing swimming pool, complete with daring slides, outdoor rapids and the relaxing lazy river. After some lunch in the main pavilion, we all headed over to the Fairground and what fun we had! An Earthsea filled go on the dodgems and go karts brought many a laugh, as well as the children thoroughly enjoying the waltzers, chair swing, carousel and simulator ride. Some delicious ice cream treats were enjoyed before the day was finished off with time in the arcades arena – and so closed another fantastic Earthsea memory for the summer of 2019.
